The English Channel offer a variety of landscapes. The coastline which borders the sea stretches 5 527 kilometres punctuated by rias, estuaries or cliff lined on the both sides of the English Channel. This total represents the total of the French coastline (5 533 km according to IGN, overseas territories excluded). On the French side, 3 541 kilometres of coastline between the North to Britain represents 64 % of the French coastline while on the English side, 1 986 kilometres represents more than 6 % of the total coastline in Great Britain.
